Guardforce’s Anti-wandering solution was selected as one of the highlighted items in the promotional video of the 2018 Gerontech and Innovation Expo Cum Summit (GIES) by the organiser, the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS).
The 2nd GIES, held from Nov 22 Nov to 25 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, received a record number of visitors.
Guardforce presented the Anti-wandering solution, emphasising the benefits of safely monitoring an elderly care facility’s exits to prevent elderly residents from wandering off alone. It’s more effective than monitoring means using shoe pins or wearables which can be removed by the wearer and incur recurring expenses. By leveraging facial recognition technology integrated in CCTV systems, Guardforce Anti-wandering solution is easy to adopt and elderly residents enjoy freedom of movement without constraints.
The live demonstrations of the solution at the event received positive feedback.
The solution continues to evolve, leveraging the embedded facial recognition technology to serve other elderly care functions. For example, day-care centres can make use of the system to track the attendance of participants, enabling the centres to use human resources more effectively and lower operation costs.
During the event, Guardforce’s assistant general manager, business development, Steven Leung was Invited to give a talk on November 24, about “how Guardforce’s anti-wandering solution helps to keep the elderly safe”.
