The 3rd Gerontech and Innovation Expo, the largest technology expo for the elderly sector, was held at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 21st to 24th November. Guardforce‘s Anti-wandering solution was again selected by the organiser, the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS), as a highlighted product. Apart from the Anti-wandering solution that comes with the additional function of automated attendance-taking, Guardforce also introduced its fall detection alarm and bed exit alarm at the event to positive feedback.
The Anti-wandering solution overlays a facial recognition function on a facility’s CCTV network for identifying and locating residents. When the system detects a resident near a CCTV-monitored exit, an alert will be sent to the central monitoring station to inform caregivers. With the additional function of tracking the attendance of staff and service users, the collected data can be conveniently extracted to compile attendance reports mandated by regulatory authorities.
Guardforce’s Bed Exit Alarm solution is designed to monitor if an elderly resident leaves his or her bed, so caregivers can provide immediate assistance to prevent residents from falling or wandering off the facility.
The Fall Prevention Solution can be applied at elderly care facilities in Hong Kong for constantly monitoring senior residents who face greater risks of falling over and hurting themselves.
In line with the company’s objective “to deliver innovative solutions, fortified security and genuine care for the community, with the foresight to identify evolving needs”, Guardforce aims to utilise these tools to help both the elderly and their caregivers in a bid to support safer care for Hong Kong’s ageing community.
